Fairytale Florals Card!

Hello, friends! I hope you're enjoying a truly wonderful day! I'm presenting on the Maja Design Blog today, and I'm excited to share a new card. I have a friend in need of something special for a loved one battling a serious illness, so I've created this in hopes of providing a bit of cheer to her day. I gave quite a bit of thought to which papers to use, and for this project I am inspired by the beautiful pastels of the Sofiero collection.

It's almost impossible to show glitter effects in photos (I rarely use it), but this card has glittery sparkle within the bouquet tumbling down the center for a 'fairytale' feel. The flowers are a mix of Prima and handmade. You'll find the two that are handmade at the bottom of the floral spray, which are my first attempt at Foamiran flowers.

A label die and hand punched lace anchor the florals at the right edge.

The sentiment stamp below seems perfect for this project.

A loopy twine bow adds a feminine flourish. I love including bows of all types, and rarely feel like a card is finished without one. The interior provides ample of space for a personal message.
Thank you so much for being here with me today! It's such an honor that you stopped in for a visit. I send wishes for gentle spring breezes and many happy hours in your own cozy craft space.

Hugs,

Springtime Florals Card!

Welcome, friends! I'm thrilled you're visiting with us on this beautiful day. Spring is well and truly arrived in my area, offering up gifts of bright and beautiful flowers. I look out of my craft room window and marvel at the blooms in my garden, which are my inspiration for today's card. I'm presenting on the Maja Design Blog today, which is always a great honor for me, and I'm drawn once again to their Coffee in the Arbour paper collection. The colors are so fresh and cheery, just like a spring day!

Design papers are distressed, layered, and stitched to form a base. Handmade florals crafted from design papers are the focal point of the card. Frothy lace and loopy twine bows add a feminine touch.

Below is a close up of the stamped sentiment. I enjoying creating cards to keep on hand to suit multiple occasions, and this one will be perfect for those times I need a last minute card.

The curlicues are made by twisting strips of design paper around the tiny end of a paint brush. A script stamp adds a bit of interest to the corners.

Below is a peek of the interior of the card. Coordinating design papers and script stamping give a cohesive appearance with the front of the card.

Thank you so much for joining me today. Don't forget to check out Maja Design's April Mood Board Challenge. We have a new challenge each month and all are welcome to participate. The winner will receive an entire collection (of their choice) of Maja Design papers! May your week be filled with crafty happiness and all of the joys of springtime!

Maja Design April Mood Board Challenge!

Hello, dear friends! How are you doing on this lovely day? I have some exciting news to share. Are you up for a contest and the chance to win a free collection of Maja Design papers? It's time for Maja Design's April Mood Board Challenge! You'll find the inspiration board below along with the simple guidelines for participating in the challenge.

This is how we use the mood boards:
Definition mood board – n
[a board used by designers on which samples of various colours and textures are mounted to help in deciding which elements complement each other]
We are using mood boards for our challenges. We truly believe in creativity and art at Maja Design. You are free to interpret the mood boards in any way you’d like. They are supposed to set you in an inspirational mood without too much controlling. We would like you to be inspired by the poems, words and photos. They are not given rules, they are just there as inspiration. Feel free to use any Maja papers you’d like as long as they follow the color scheme.
We will pick a winner and present it on the Maja Design blog on December 26th.
Have in mind that these challenges are a really great way for us to discover new talents and maybe some future Creative Team members…

How to participate?
♥ Create anything you’ll like – a layout, a card, something altered or maybe a canvas, take a nice picture of it and send it to moodboard@majadesign.nu. We also need to know your full name, address and a phone number. Please specify what collection you would like to win, if you are the lucky one. We will also want to know if you would like it in the size 12*12 or 6*6. Please send us the pictures in the size of 800 pixels on the width. We would be so grateful if you also could change the file name of the photo to your first and last name including your country.
♥ Feel free to send us more than one picture, from different angles or some close-ups – or why not more than one project?
♥ Publish the project/s on your blog (or/and any social media, e.g. Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest) with a link to our site. Please also add the picture of the mood board.
♥ Feel free to combine your entry with other challenges.
♥ The winner will be revealed the last Monday each month, at the Maja blog. The winner will be sent one collection by their choice, and also a digital Winner’s Badge to use and brag with.

I adore this month's palette of purples and greens with emphasis on flowers, nature, and gardens. I have set about creating my own garden using Maja Design's Ska vi ta en Fika paper collection. Handmade blooms tumble down the card in shades ranging from the palest lavender to the darkest purple. Below are a few more detailed photos of my project if you'd care to take a peek.

Thank you for spending time with me today! Your kind words always warm my heart. I am the luckiest girl in the world to have such a lovely crafty family. I can't wait to see your beautiful creations!

Hugs,

Friends for Life

Hello! I wish you  the warmest of welcomes. I hope you had a lovely Easter.

I have a new card to share with you. I created it for my dear friend's birthday, and I'm honored to be presenting it on the Maja Design Blog! I'm drawn to a soothing palette in my friend's favorite color, and have found just what I'm looking for in Maja Design's Vintage Summer Basics paper collection. This collection is a staple for me and coordinates well with Maja Design's other paper collections.

The larger flowers are handmade using design papers. If you'd like to make this style of  flower you'll find a link to the step by step tutorial in the sidebar of my blog. All papers are not created equal, and after thorough testing I have determined that Maja Design paper is the best for flower making. It stands up perfectly to all of the twisting and shaping I use in my process, which breaks down lesser quality papers to shreds.

Stamping along the edges adds a special touch, as does the sentiment stamp (below) which is just perfect for my friend.

A trio of sweet butterflies flutter about my little flower garden.

Decorative corner die cuts anchor the florals as they cascade down the card.

Below is a peek at the interior of the card.

Thank you so much for joining me! You can bring these pretty papers home by following this STORE FINDER link, which will magically transport you to an online store in your country. May your day be filled with everything that brings you joy and many crafty delights!
